The "Spellbound" Wine Dinner - Monday, April 11th 2011

http://flanaganswr.com/news/pics/top-wine-family.jpg

A reminder, the Wine Review will be holding a private wine dinner Monday, April 11th at 6:00 pm. Great news, I sat down and talked with the Spellbound wine maker to pair the wines for the wine dinner.  Spellbound, owned by Rob Mondavi Jr is an amazing label out of Northern California crafting their wines from such regions as Alexander Valley and the Russian River Valley.  On top of getting to sample Spellbound’s amazing Petite Sirah, Merlot, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon the winemaker has decided to bring along his Isabel Mondavi Rose and Pinot Noir for our customers to enjoy. The wine dinner is starting to fill up but there are still plenty of seats available, and at $50 for seven courses and six wines it’s a deal you CAN’T pass up. The first course is a three cheese savory cheesecake with smoked salmon, leading into a Spanish influenced white bean and chorizo soup.  For this wine dinner the entrée is going to feature the best of all worlds, for the meat lovers a piece of grilled New York strip, pieces of butter poached lobster tail, as well as fresh home made ravioli for the pasta lover in all of us. The night will be finished off with an incredible blueberry panna cotta with bourbon sauce.   Matching these fantastic wines with such rich and savory traditional European dishes was a treat and is sure to blow away all guests joining us for this amazing deal.
